Glynis Wozniak graduated in July 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Performance at the University of the West of Scotland having gained 6 Merits in HND in Acting and Performance (acting; voice; dance and musical theatre) under Alan Watters at Inverness College.

Glynis is a strong and passionate dramatic actor, dancer and singer who is able to express emotions naturally as genuinely feels each character and researches thoroughly to provide a strong character background and profile. She can cry on demand and be soft, hard, sensual, cold, vibrant, mean or fun in personality. A professional dancer for many years, she can dance varied genres and is currently learning ballroom dance to add to her repertoire. She also has a wide vocal range and strong voice and sings regularly at gigs across central Scotland.

Professional and dedicated to her art, she is easy to work with and is a team player with a determined and genuine ‘can do’ attitude.

Please note that Glynis has recently changed representation to Liz Bisset Management (Tel: 0844 800 6662) and is looking forward to further exposure.

Glynis loves theatre and the raw emotions she can portray to a live audience, but since working on several short films, has come to love the screen and appreciates the team work required in television and film and the clever art of editing.

She is particularly interested in roles that will stretch her as an actor, whilst appealing to her multi-faceted personality and loves to get an audience thinking, feeling, responding whether in lust, affinity or loathing. She adores having an audience debate her topic of performance, such as:

UMBRA:  1.  A region of complete shadow resulting from the obstruction of light by an opaque object, esp. the shadow cast by the moon onto the earth during a solar eclipse (Collins Dictionary and Thesaurus,1989: 1085), the play she wrote, directed and performed in as part of her creative project.

With the strong cast of Euan Sinclair as son Aaron and the powerful Ian Plunkett as husband, Scott, Umbra explores the dark side of the mother as she enters into a consensual incestuous relationship with her 20-year old son. Leaving the audience divided in opinion and equally mesmerised and horrified, Glynis created a powerful piece that also displays her skill in song and dance.

Umbra was showcased in Glasgow’s CCA - but will be included in an evening of performance at the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine that Glynis is currently producing providing the opportunity for those who missed Umbra the first time round.

Glynis performed with Stephanie Falls and Storm Skyler-McClure at Glasgow Subway Festival and as Dominatrix in Party in a Matchboxat the Edinburgh Film Festival and recently concluded her professional directing debut with To Yourself Be True at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009.

Glynis recently returned from singing at the Newmarket Acoustic Gig , where she was accompanied by Nick Anderson and is currently working on new numbers with Dougie Greig to perform on request.

Also an experienced dance and drama teacher and workshop facilitator, she conducts several projects for Impact Arts and youth group, Douglas Drama Queens. For more information regarding her self esteem workshops, please check the relevant page within this website.
